GOOD BAIT NUMBER FIVE 148F
Compact but powerful! Measuring under 15 cm, this compact splash pencil is built for serious action. It casts perfectly with PE5–PE6 line and features an oversized cup that lets it double as both a popper and a diving pencil, depending on how you work it.
Popper mode: With the head floating, a short, sharp jerk produces splashes and bubbles like a small-diameter popper.
Diving pencil mode: Work it with a “slug jerk” motion — flicking the line slack — and the lure will roll and slide underwater, maintaining a smooth, continuous action that drives fish to strike.
Hook setup:
Designed for a #2/0 single hook (≈5.5 g).
Best matches: Vanfook Takumi Premium #2/0 or Gamakatsu SP-XH #2/0–#3/0.
If the lure rises too slowly, a lighter front hook helps lift the head more easily.
Like the NUMBER SIX, using a single hook setup enhances its diving action, making it especially effective for yellowtail amberjack.
